A live inventory across Homebrew, npm, pnpm, Cargo, RubyGems and pipx: what's installed, what's outdated, what it costs you in disk. Update from inside Sweep.

Abandoned agent worktrees

Coding agents leave git worktrees behind by the dozen. Sweep finds the ones nothing has touched in two weeks, reads each one's real last-commit date, and never offers the worktree you are working in.

Electron app caches

Service-worker caches from Slack, Discord, Notion, Figma, Obsidian, Spotify, Linear and friends — the folders that quietly reach gigabytes because nothing ever clears them.

Per-app caches and diagnostic logs that rebuild automatically. Apple's own system caches are excluded — macOS manages those itself.

Trash, installers, backups

The Trash you never empty, month-old DMG installers, and stale iPhone backups — marked irreplaceable and reviewed, never auto-cleaned.

Browser data

Safari, Chrome, Arc, Firefox, Edge, Brave, Vivaldi, Opera and Chromium caches; history and cookies only if you tick them. Passwords and bookmarks are structurally off-limits.

Duplicates & large files

Exact copies by content hash, plus near-duplicate photos and bursts found on-device with Apple's Vision framework. Sweep keeps the sharpest, best-exposed copy — measured, not the newest by date — and never enters your Photos library.

Regrowth forecasting

Sweep fits how fast each folder refills from your own scan history, so it can tell you how much of a clean actually stays gone. Nothing is claimed when the evidence is thin.

Memory, CPU & battery

Live pressure and per-process usage, safe process quitting, and battery health with cycles and temperature — the system half of a healthy Mac.

Game & creative caches

Unity, Unreal and Steam shader caches, engine build output and workshop leftovers; render caches and derived media from Premiere, After Effects, DaVinci and Ableton. Project files are never candidates — only what the app rebuilds.

Protection & upkeep
Space Lens

A live map of where the space actually went, biggest first, drilling into any folder. It answers “why is my disk full” in the app instead of handing you off to Finder.

Malware scanner

Checks for known adware and browser hijackers in the places they actually install — launch agents, profiles, browser extensions. On-device, with no subscription to a threat feed.

Login items

Everything that starts itself when you do, with what it belongs to and how to turn it off. Disabling flips the same switch System Settings does — nothing is deleted.

System maintenance

The upkeep tasks macOS runs on its own schedule and sometimes never gets to — rebuilding caches, flushing stale state — run on demand and explained before they run.

Network cleanup

Flush the DNS cache and clear the network caches that survive a reboot. Credentials, known hosts and Wi-Fi profiles are structurally out of reach.

Secure shredder

For the files you want gone rather than recoverable. The one place in Sweep with no undo — which is exactly why it is a separate, deliberate screen.
