Sweep's analysis runs entirely on your Mac. We read file sizes, dates and names — never file contents. No file listings leave your machine, ever.
What the app touches
The Sweep app scans metadata (sizes, modification dates, names) of files under rule-defined locations. Cleaning moves files to a local vault on your own disk. A hard-coded never-touch list excludes keychains, credentials, .env files, browser passwords and bookmarks, receipts and Time Machine snapshots.
What the app sends
Nothing by default. Network calls are limited to update checks, signed rulepack downloads, and license activation (which transmits your license key and an anonymous device identifier — never file data). Optional diagnostics are opt-in and contain aggregate counts only.
What this website stores
Your email, name (if you sign in with Google), plan and billing history, license keys and device activations, and support conversations. Payments are processed by our providers (Apple for App Store purchases; our merchant of record for direct purchases) — we never see card numbers. Session cookies are strictly functional; there is no advertising or cross-site tracking here.
Your data, your call
Email support to export or delete your account data at any time. Deleting your account revokes licenses and removes personal data within 30 days, except invoices we must retain for tax law.
