A Mac App Store edition is planned for public launch and will bill through your Apple ID. Store rules require sandboxing, so that edition will reach fewer places on disk than the direct build; the download page will say exactly which. Pro covers one Mac either way.

Sweep checks once a day, downloads in the background and swaps the new version in when you quit, so you are never interrupted mid-scan. Every update is verified against Sweep's own signing key before it is installed — a tampered download is refused rather than run. Both the daily check and the background install are switches in Settings, and Homebrew installs update in place the same way.

A license activates one Mac at a time. Moving it is instant and unlimited: deactivate the old Mac from your web console and activate the new one. Buying a second Mac a licence of its own is only necessary if you want both cleaning at once.
